PCIC Conference AppOnce again this year, the official PCIC Conference App will be available for download to mobile devices in the Google App Store and through the Apple App Store. The App title is "PCIC 2018".
The app is your interactive guide to the PCIC Conference, including:
The PCIC 2018 App can also be access through any laptop, PC, tablet or mobile device through any web browser at the website: www.eventmobi.com/pcic2018
Each attendee MUST register for the Conference with a unique email address. It is highly recommended that an attendee's guest also register with a unique email address. If a unique email address is not provided for an attendee's guest, the guest will not have access to the PCIC app, will not be able to view Guest Events on the app, and will not receive alerts or notices. When accessing the app for the first time, you will be instructed to enter the email address that you used to register for the Conference. You will also be instructed to create and enter your own one time unique password. You may choose any password that you like. If you should later forget your password, there will be a link for you to update it. It may take a few days to activate your app access once you have registered for the Conference. For questions or concerns about the PCIC 2018 App, contact John Propst via email at j.e.propst@ieee.org. FAQs about the App

How do I access the App from my Laptop, PC, or Tablet? Open the web browser on you device (Explorer, Safari, Chrome, etc). Go to the web site www.eventmobi.com/pcic2018. This is the same App that you access via mobile devices. You have the option to save the App link to your home page. Why would I want to access the App from my PC if I have it on my phone? First, there is not an App that can be downloaded to Laptops or PCs. Second, during the conference you will be able to download the entire conference record with all the technical papers as one large file. We recommend that you do this when you are connected to a high speed internet connection rather than using a WiFi connection on your mobile device. How do I log into the mobile App for the first time? The first time you access the PCIC 2018 App via your mobile phone, you will be asked to enter an email address and a password. You must use the email address that you used to register for the conference. Each attendee and guest that wants to access the mobile App mush have a unique email address. Once you have entered your own unique email address you will be asked to enter a password. You may choose any combination of letters, numbers, or characters for your password. When I go to the "Directory" on the menu and then to the "Guests", my guest has a comment indicating that they are "Not Linked to the App". What does this mean? How can my guest gain access to the App? While the PCIC registration process permits both attendees and their guests to register using the same email address, the PCIC App uses a different database and does not allow duplicate email addresses. If your guest wants access to the App there are two options. the first is to use the attendee's email address and password. Note that when this is done the attendee and guest will be sharing the same schedule and profile. The second and recommended option is to contact the Conference App Chairs - John Propst or Jim Hill, and have them update the guest's account with a different (but valid) email address. What if I forget my log-in password? If you should forget your App log in password, a link will be provided to allow you to renew you password by sending a message to your registered email address. When I log into the App, I have the option to update my personal profile. What is this? Every individual that is registered at the conference and that chooses to access the PCIC 2018 App has the option to update their personal profile. Their personal profile allows the individual to share personal information with others on the App. Each individual has the option to: Upload a photo of themselves, add a bio to tell others about themselves, and add links to the social media sites. Entering a personal profile is strictly an option that each individual has a choice to participate in or ignore. An individual’s personal profile information is deleted following the conference. How do I get started using the App? The Home Screen on the app has been designed to provide the user with what we think are the nine most often used links in the Apps. All of the standards and working group meetings are open to both visitors who just want to learn more and to people who are interested in joining the groups. I want to get more involved with PCIC but don't know where to start. What can I do? PCIC is always looking for people interested in getting involved. On the App Menu, click on the "Directory" and then click on "PCIC Exec Sub". This page lists the various individuals who currently lead various groups within the PCIC. Introduce yourself to any of these individuals and let them know that you'd like to get more involved. There are many opportunities both with the PCCI organization as well as within the Local Committee organizations that are responsible for the current and all upcoming conferences.
